Before every meeting

Tell everyone that SpeakMyLingo will use the microphone and stream audio to OpenAI for live transcription, translation or notes. Explain whether audio and transcripts will be retained on the phone, and begin only after every required participant agrees.

Choose the visible privacy promise

Encrypted audio + transcript retains both on the device. Transcript only keeps the transcript without a durable audio recording. Live only means SpeakMyLingo keeps neither after the meeting and disables export and outside-app viewing. In every online mode, the disclosed processor may temporarily retain request data under its own API safety and data-control policy.

During capture

Keep the unmistakable active-microphone indicator visible when practical. Stop capture if consent is withdrawn. Laws differ across countries and situations; the person operating SpeakMyLingo is responsible for following applicable recording, workplace and confidentiality rules.

A short announcement

Suggested wording: “I'd like to use SpeakMyLingo to transcribe and translate this conversation. It sends audio to OpenAI for processing. Is everyone comfortable with that?”
